Madrid, 28 September 2009. In this third edition will be nine plenary sessions, 28 panels and 45 workshops. Are some of the figures in this great international event of speaking digital content that has already begun its countdown. The great challenge of this edition of FICOD (International Forum of Digital Content) is the networking: online and offline tools allow contact between Congress helping to promote the exchange of ideas and new businesses in the digital content industry.
The FICOD 2009 will take place on 17, 18 and 19 November at the Palacio de Congresos Juan Carlos I in Madrid (Campo de las Naciones). FICOD born in 2007 led by Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Society Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, with the main purpose of publicizing the products and services of the digital content industry, looking for synergies and exchange experiences, with particular focus on the Spanish language markets. One sector that has more than 455 million Hispanic speakers and about 104 million Internet users.
The digital content market has been growing over the past year. The digital content sector turnover in Spain in 2008 4.982 billion, up 15.8% over 2007, with growth in the period 2003 to 2008 of 82%. This consists of digital audiovisual services companies, music, film and digital video, interactive leisure software, portals and digital publications. Digital content is included in the Global Sector of the Contents, it raked in 2008 a total of 15.858 million euros. The importance of digital content sector is reflected in the proportion that this sector is taking in the content, in 2003 the turnover of Digital Contents accounted for 20% of the total content sector, while 2008 and reached 31%, an increase of 11 percentage points over this period.
Because of this, and today, the third edition of FICOD has become essential meeting place for professionals in television, film, music, interactive digital entertainment, animation, audiovisual, digital publications, education, user-generated content, social networks, the blogosphere, interactive advertising, etc.. The entire chain will be represented sector: distribution, devices, funding, training, internationalization, hearings, means of payment, public policy, digital television, audiences, commerce, etc..
Given its international vocation, the FICOD account in all its issues with invited countries. If for the appointment in 2008 was invited to Colombia in its third year of celebration, and the growing impact it is having on the sector, has invited the United States, one of the major world powers in the field of digital content with a population of 45 million hispanoparlantes.
About FICOD
The third edition of the International Forum on Digital Content will take place on November 17th, 18th and 19th at the Juan Carlos I Convention Center in Madrid. It was established in 2007 as part of the series of measures approved by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and the Information Society of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce under the Avanza Plan to develop the Information Society and to bring Spain in line with Europe and provide the Autonomous Regions with common direction. Its primary objective is to promote the products and services of the digital content industry, seek synergies and exchange experiences, with a special focus on the Spanish language markets. The digital content sector in Spain saw turnover of 4.982 million Euros in 2008, which is 15.8% more than in 2007. This means 82% growth for the 2003-2008 period. It is made up of companies that do business in digital audiovisual services, music, film and digital video, interactive entertainment software, websites and digital publications. Digital content is included in the Global Content Sector, which invoiced a total of 15.858 million Euros in 2008. The importance of the digital content sector is reflected in the percentage this sector occupies within the content sector; in 2003, Digital Content turnover amounted to 20% of the total turnover of the Content Sector, and this figure was 31% in 2008, meaning an increase of 11 percentage points during this period. It is an industry that includes more than 455 million Spanish speakers and around 104 million Internet users throughout the world.
